Podcast show notes are an important but easily overlooked part of the podcasting process. It’s easy to want to skip over this part of the puzzle, but it’s critical for SEO and the success of your episodes.
We all know that writing show notes can be time-consuming and requires significant effort. Podcasters may be more focused on creating new content or promoting their show and may not have enough time to write detailed show notes. Great show notes require a specific set of skills that not all podcasters may possess, and so they leave a lot of potential on the table. Many podcasters may struggle with grammar, spelling, or finding the right words to express their ideas. Summarizing a podcast episode can be difficult, especially if it covers many topics or includes many guests. All in all, it can be challenging to identify the most important points and convey them concisely.
Show notes should not be an afterthought! They are an important part of their content strategy. That’s why we’ve taken the time to test many of the new AI podcast show note-generating tools, and Podium has come out on top.
Now, Podium won’t solve all your problems. You still need to take what Podium generates and get it in the right format and in the right places. That is what this post will show you how to do. You get a sneak peek into HC’s proven process for podcast show notes, plus Podium’s powerful capabilities.
What is Podium AI
Podium AI is a service that provides podcast show notes using artificial intelligence. The service uses advanced natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to generate show notes that summarize the key points discussed in a podcast episode.
Podium AI works by analyzing the audio file of a podcast episode and identifying the important topics and themes that are discussed. The service then generates a summary of the episode that includes key takeaways, quotes, and highlights. The show notes are organized in a logical and easy-to-read format that makes it easy for listeners to quickly review the content of the episode.
In addition to generating show notes, Podium AI can also help podcasters optimize their content for search engines. By analyzing the content of the episode, the service can identify important keywords and phrases that can be used to improve the discoverability of the podcast.
Overall, Podium AI is a useful tool for podcasters who want to save time and improve the quality of their show notes. The service can help podcasters reach a wider audience by making their content more accessible and discoverable.
Why we prefer Podium to other AI show notes tools:
- Most than one summary to choose from
- Titles generated by Podium are better than other tools. They still need editing but are significantly better.
- Summaries are BETTER than summaries generated by other tools
- Summaries don’t “give it all away”
- Chapters come with concise and expanded versions to choose from for different uses
- The full transcript is excellent and more accurate than other AI tools
- Keywords can be used for hashtag ideas on social and YouTube
- Chapters can be used for YouTube
- Highlights can be used for additional social media ideas
Shownotes we add to hosting that appear on all podcast apps:
We upload our edited MP3 audio file to generate our Podium show notes and resources. We use the edited file so that way the time stamps match up with the edited audio. If we used the raw audio, the time stamps likely wouldn’t make sense post-edit, and neither would the transcript.
From there, Podium will give us show notes, highlights, and a transcript. We review the suggested titles versus the titles we’ve chosen and determine the best fit based on which title best aligns with the ideal listener’s needs and has the best keyword or phrase to accomplish this goal. The titles generated by Podium almost always need a little editing, but getting solid ideas is a HUGE step forward.
Next, review the summary suggestions. We take the summary we like best and add a section labeled, “In this episode, you’ll hear.” Under this section, we add the short descriptions of each “chapter” provided by Podium. We rework the chapter language slightly so it reads correctly under “in this episode, you’ll hear…” These two items, the author bio, and key links create the show notes we use across all podcast platforms.

Podium show notes we add to our website for SEO:
We expand show notes on our website for SEO. SEO stands for search engine optimization. Getting the embed player and the SEO show notes on the website helps the entire site rise in search results. To accomplish this, we take the embed player generated in hosting so people can listen to the episode right in the post, add the same show notes we used in hosting, plus the chapters generated by Podium and the full transcript. We would also likely add other suggested episodes. The transcript helps the post meet the SEO length requirement.
Adding your podcast episode and show notes to your website can significantly improve your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts. This is because search engines like Google use a variety of factors to determine the relevance and authority of a website, including the quality and relevance of its content. By adding your podcast episode and show notes to your website, you are creating high-quality, relevant content that can help your website rank higher in search results.
When you add your podcast episode and show notes to your website, you are also creating more opportunities for keywords and phrases to appear on your website. This can help search engines understand what your website is about and improve its relevance for specific search queries. Additionally, having a transcript of your podcast episode can make your content more accessible to people who may not be able to listen to the audio, such as those with hearing impairments.
Finally, by adding your podcast episode and show notes to your website, you are creating more opportunities for other websites to link back to your content. Backlinks from reputable websites can significantly improve your website’s authority and improve its ranking in search results. Adding your podcast episode and show notes to your website is a great way to improve your SEO efforts and attract more listeners to your podcast. Don’t miss this opporunity.
